SMARTGO is Dainese’s innovative electronic airbag system that makes the advanced protection of D-air® technology more accessible, lightweight, and immediate for everyday travel. Designed for road use, it is ideal for those who ride mainly in urban or short-range suburban environments and want a practical protective solution that integrates naturally into their daily routine.Weighing only 780 g, the SmartGo vest can be worn over or under any motorcycle garment and requires no connection to the vehicle. The design is engineered to provide up to 5 cm of dedicated space for airbag expansion in the back and chest area, ensuring proper deployment of the bag in the event of activation. The electronic platform, located in the upper back area, autonomously manages activation and intervenes in the event of high-side, low-side crashes, with or without rolling, as well as on collision with obstacles or impact with other vehicles. The system arms automatically when exceeding 10 km/h or upon detecting vehicle vibrations, providing protection when the required conditions are met.Certified as Category II PPE according to European standards for personal protective equipment, SmartGo achieves Level 2 protection for chest and back without the need for additional passive protectors. In the event of an impact, the D-air® airbag system also helps limit neck movement, reducing head-neck excursion and supporting helmet stability.
The airbag features an innovative diaphragm construction patented by D-air® Lab and can be inflated up to three times, thanks to the gas generator housed in the rear compartment, which is easy to replace by the user. The fit is adjustable via a waist band, with adaptable width and height, to ensure comfort and stability while riding and to maintain the space needed for proper airbag expansion.In warmer months, the front can be folded inward and secured with magnets, allowing air to flow while riding. The softness and compactness of the vest also make it easy to store once off the bike, whether under the seat, in the top box, or in a backpack.Designed to simplify the user experience, SmartGo uses an external power source: either a smartphone compatible with OTG technology or a dedicated battery board, both connectable via the convenient USB-C cable integrated into the front pocket.
